2844 beneficiaries benefited from the services of the Women's Empowerment Center at Asharqia Chamber in 2023.
In continuation of the efforts to enhance the role of Saudi women in the economic movement, and in line with the goals of Vision 2030, and in leveraging their capabilities to contribute to the support of the national economy, the Women's Empowerment Center at the Asharqia Chamber kept pace with the economic momentum witnessed in the region during the past year 2023. This was achieved by organizing various specialized events and diverse activities that actively involved Saudi women, reaffirming the empowerment of businesswomen and entrepreneurs as partners in the economic development of the Eastern Province.
The center's work program witnessed significant engagement, with 2844 beneficiaries interacting with the center's services. To benefit from specialized and general meetings and lectures, 58 individuals expressed interest in enhancing their skills and updating their knowledge. In support of the center's mission to contribute to the awareness of Chamber members, the center distributed 251 circulars targeting a larger participation of businesswomen in national initiatives. Additionally, the center broadcasted 199 informational and advisory services, provided 5 publications including guides and specialized reports, and organized 14 meetings for Asharqia Chamber's Toastmasters Club for Women.
As part of the plans to develop and activate the economic role of the business sector in the region, and to overcome the challenges and difficulties facing women in their role as active partners in economic development, the Women's Empowerment Center, through the Businesswomen's Council, organized 42 meetings discussing the updates and challenges faced by businesswomen. The center worked on proposing suitable solutions and presenting them to experts and officials in the region. Additionally, it initiated 31 initiatives aimed at empowering leadership, conducted 25 visits to relevant entities, and organized 22 meetings and programs discussing challenges in the field of enterprises and women's centers.
Targeting the support and enhancement of women's empowerment paths, increasing partnerships, and solidifying their presence, and confirming the interaction of businesswomen with the center, several events organized by the chamber in 2023 recorded significant attendance and participation from women. This included the annual reception ceremony of the chamber, which concluded its 2023 activities with the presence of 60 women, and a celebration organized in conjunction with International Women's Day attended by 80 women and 20 community participants.
The Women's Empowerment Center at the Asharqia Chamber aims to highlight female leaders and experienced individuals in the Eastern region, contributing to raising the awareness of businesswomen on economic aspects. The center seeks to create a nurturing environment serving entrepreneurs and businesswomen, activate women's participation in the labor market, and achieve one of the goals of Vision 2030. It also supports the involvement of women in local and international forums in the Eastern Province.
Among its responsibilities is to monitor and analyze national indicators, economic changes, decisions, and policies affecting women's participation in development. The center provides information related to the procedures for businesswomen to engage in economic activities, fosters relationships between businesswomen in the Eastern Province and those in different regions, and offers consultations to support women's projects. Furthermore, it works to enhance the competitiveness of women in the job market.
The center also focuses on introducing business opportunities available to businesswomen, encouraging female investments in various fields, and promoting the role of businesswomen in economic development. It emphasizes highlighting the role of women and their participation in economic activities.
Additionally, the center is committed to forming partnerships with relevant entities to empower women economically. It works on establishing committees and councils for chamber members to advocate for their interests and contributes to enhancing the efficiency of female leadership and workforce in the Eastern Province. The center organizes specialized programs for the qualification, development, and encouragement of female investments. It conducts lectures, workshops, hosts officials, and arranges regular meetings for female investors.
